As many of you may know, most of my time in Seymour consists of daily dates with Lyssa - this trip back to Seymour was just that. We got quite a few things done including fitting my wedding dress for the first time with a friend of a friend from Black Creek, WI. We also went for ice cream, did some shopping, dropped of pictures of Joel at Jed's place for WE Fest, made a fresh veggie dinner, and went out to eat with Katie Morris in Green Bay! Wheww... too many activities to list.
One of our more adventurous activities included driving cranes. Yep, cranes. I can't disclose the details - but I can say that it was AWESOME and we felt like such powerful human beings after lifting over a ton of steel! All we could do was growl like men in the minivan on the way home while my greasy fingers gripped the wheel! RRGGGH! Now if there's one thing that will put hair on your chest - it's driving cranes!

Lyssa in command of way too much tonage... |
As the week was drawing to an end in Seymour I was able to convince Kate Z to drive all the way up from Chicago on a Thursday night to spend some time in Seymour and Green Bay with me, Lyssa and Haus. It was a blast. Thursday, we stayed at Haus' place and I thought we started out sleeping in the same bed, but later I found Kate on the couch in the living room. Either I snore, or Kate sleepwalks - we're not sure which one is true yet.

Getting to work at Buck's Camp |

the siding colors came together nicely |
Early the next morning, we went home to hit the road up to Joel's cabin. We were planning to pack way too many activities into one day... something we like to call "MARSHing it!" We got up to Joel's camp and first worked to pick out the siding colors. Next, we were put to work right away in the bathroom. We painted it a light grey which looks awesome and tough.
Finally, we started in the master bedroom with varnishing. Joel wanted the ceilings to remain rustic with rough saw beams and the wood from the upstairs showing through. This means it all must be varnished to keep it's beauty. Kate and I worked on the scaffolding and got a good chunk of the room done. After our jobs were finished, we hit the road back to Seymour to get ready for Packer Family night! Whoot whoooot!
